We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to oversee and manage all phases of dirt-related activities on our horizontal construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in earthwork, grading, and soil management, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and supervise dirt-related activities on road construction sites.
- Manage site crews, including subcontractors and equipment operators.
- Plan and schedule work to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Monitor project progress and implement necessary adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety on-site.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Manage equipment and materials to optimize usage and reduce waste.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise on the job site.
- Proven experience as a Superintendent or in a similar role in road construction, particularly with a focus on dirt and earthwork.
- Strong knowledge of grading, soil types, and compaction techniques.
- Familiarity with construction equipment and machinery used in earthmoving.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in construction.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites.
- 3 to 5 years related work experience.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, First Aid/CPR, etc.).
- Experience with project management software and tools.
