Job Overview

Sterling Boiler & Mechanical is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to oversee and manage engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the Construction Engineering department, planning and executing various projects.
  • Review and interpret contracts, managing modifications and other contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain robust relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project teams to establish work plans and assign roles, responsibilities, and authority.
  • Direct and coordinate project personnel activities to ensure timely progress and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Analyze status reports for management, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance on construction design, specifications, and planning, utilizing AutoCAD and technical drawings.
  • Coordinate project activities with internal teams and joint venture partners.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of projects, including safety, performance, budgeting, scheduling using Primavera P6, equipment management, and quality assurance.
  • Execute supervisory duties in line with organizational policies and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with estimating departments during project procurement phases using HeavyBid.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by corporate and project management.
  • Understand subcontracting, work orders, formal purchase orders, budget preparation, and management.
  • Manage project controls effectively.
  • Participate in training sessions as required.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering, or an equivalent foreign degree, plus a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the construction sector; or a Master's degree in the same fields with at least 3 years of relevant experience.


Experience Requirements:

Experience must encompass:

  • Planning and supervising the construction of large-scale industrial projects, including power generation facilities, heavy processing plants, and metal manufacturing.
  • Estimating material, equipment, and labor costs for substantial industrial construction projects.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and AutoCAD.
