The Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating civil industrial projects, including Wastewater Pump Stations and Water Reclamation Facilities. The role requires ensuring that project objectives are met within established timelines and budget constraints.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze and comprehend project plans and specifications.
- Adhere to administrative protocols as detailed in the Project Administration Manual.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations.
- Utilize CPM scheduling software to create and maintain accurate project timelines.
- Oversee the submittal process and ensure compliance with working drawings requirements.
- Prepare and modify reports, specifications, plans, and environmental studies as required.
- Regularly update project schedules in collaboration with the Project Superintendent.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and report on cost and income quantities.
- Review and approve progress billings.
- Prepare and submit timely cost and cash flow projections.
- Manage subcontractor requisitions and vendor invoices.
- Assist the Project Manager in negotiating change orders and claims.
- Address issues promptly and proactively; manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Organize and maintain project documentation and correspondence.
- Ensure compliance with subcontractor insurance requirements.
- Promote safety and participate in planning sessions with the project team.
- Foster a respectful work environment and collaborate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Consistently uphold safety policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficient in computer applications, including spreadsheet and word processing software, as well as CPM scheduling tools.
- Familiarity with cost and productivity analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret business reports and technical documents.
- Strong mathematical skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
- Capable of solving complex problems and interpreting various instructions.
