Infrastructure Project Engineer Job Overview:

The Infrastructure Project Engineer will be responsible for the design, planning, and oversight of construction projects related to site development and public works, including structures such as buildings, bridges, highways, dams, pipelines, and water and sewage systems.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate field team operations. Provide expert consultation and direction to project stakeholders and management regarding engineering specifications for various designs, modifications, and structural enhancements. Utilize design software and drafting tools to accurately depict and convey project designs; develop plans for related systems and structures, including transportation and hydraulic systems. Evaluate the integrity of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel through material and soil testing. Establish design criteria by calculating load and grade requirements, material stress factors, water flow rates, and other relevant parameters. Organize projects based on thorough analysis of pertinent materials such as drawings, blueprints, aerial imagery, survey reports, maps, and other geological and topographical information. Prepare and present comprehensive reports on project-related topics, including environmental impact assessments and right-of-way evaluations. Estimate necessary materials, equipment, and labor to assess project costs. Collaborate with architects, surveyors, and contractors to ensure timely project advancement. Work closely with surveyors (or lead and engage in surveying) to set up installations or reference points, grades, elevations, and other critical factors influencing construction. Supervise project development to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards. Upon project completion, conduct inspections, repairs, and maintenance of structures as required. Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:

In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools. Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) and other relevant design, data recording, and analysis software. Comprehensive understanding of materials, methods, and tools used in the construction or repair of buildings, bridges, roads, and similar structures. Strong grasp of safety regulations pertinent to assigned projects. Ability to identify and resolve complex engineering challenges. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capacity to be both innovative and analytical. Highly detail-oriented and precise.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required. Professional licensure is preferred but not mandatory.
Physical Demands:
Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally. Willingness to travel to various project sites. Capability to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
