Job Description:

Vadum seeks a highly motivated mid-to-senior level engineer with a strong background in HDL programming to work on FPGA development, designing, implementing, and troubleshooting firmware for FPGA based hardware systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing and Implementing Modules: Create complex FPGA designs, including modules within them.
  • Debugging and Troubleshooting: Debug HDL designs, develop testbenches, and stimulate/emulate logic to resolve issues.
  • Meeting Objectives: Deliver results on time, meeting deadlines and schedule requirements.
  • Adapting Systems: Adjust systems to meet changing business needs.
  • Writing Scripts and Testing: Write scripts, conduct testing through root cause analysis and debugging resolution.
  • Hardware/Software Interfaces: Understand and collaborate with firmware engineers on hardware/software interfaces.
  • Maintaining Designs: Maintain and improve existing designs and source code for a modular structure within a fast-paced design environment.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or relevant field.
  • Experience: 6-10 years (BS), 5-8 years (MS), 4-8 years (PhD) of relevant experience.
  • Citizenship and Security Clearance: US Citizenship and Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain.
  • Digital Hardware Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of digital hardware.
  • HDL Languages: In-depth knowledge and use of VHDL, Verilog, and System Verilog HDL languages.
  • FPGA Design Toolchain: Experience with Xilinx Vivado FPGA design toolchain, including ILAs, and other hardware debugging tools.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical thinking skills.
  • HDL Programming: Strong HDL programming and code writing skills.
  • Testing Tools: Experience with testing, validation, and debugging tools.
  • Matlab and Linux: Experience with Matlab and other similar tools, as well as Linux operating procedures.
