Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Microsoft Corporation.

About the Role

This role is responsible for taking ownership of mechanical projects from concept to production, working with a team of engineers to develop innovative solutions for Microsoft's cloud hardware infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and analyze mechanical components, systems, and assemblies using CAD software.
  • Create prototypes for testing and validation and facilitate their introduction into our products.
  • Develop mechanical specifications and interface control documents.
  • Drive best practices for mechanical design across our product portfolio while ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience developing specifications, interface control documents, and managing design requirements related to server components and systems design.
  • CAD (PTC Creo/Solidworks) and simulation tools (Ansys/Abaqus) skills.
  • A strong understanding of mechanical design principles, ANSI Y14.5 GD&T, Tolerance analysis, manufacturing processes, and conducting DOEs, Testing and Validation.
