Job Title: Custodial Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Custodial Support Specialist to join our team at the Brunswick School Department. As a key member of our facilities staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and clean environment for students and staff.

Estimated Salary: $38,000 - $58,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role:

The Custodial Support Specialist will be responsible for providing custodial support services to our schools, including cleaning, maintenance, and repair of buildings and equipment. This will involve regular cleaning schedules, as well as responding to any ad-hoc requests from staff or students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain cleanliness of buildings and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas.
  • Lift 50 pounds as required.
  • Climb ladders to clean or perform maintenance duties.
  • Climb stairs from floor to floor to clean or perform maintenance duties.
  • Work on knees to clean or perform maintenance duties.
  • Maintain cleanliness of building interior and exterior surfaces on schedule as determined by supervisor.
  • Assure that all walkways, driveways, parking areas, and steps are clear and passable.
  • Make minor building repairs and promptly report to Director any major repairs needed.
  • Remain on school premises during school hours, and non-school hours when the use of the building has been authorized and attendance is required by supervisor.
  • Move furniture and/or equipment as required for various activities as directed by supervisor.
  • Establish and maintain positive professional relationships with other employees, department heads, and visitors.
  • Complete and practice all required training sessions as outlined by regulatory agencies such as Safety Works, OSHA, fire department, and any other regulatory agencies.
