Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Lab Technician to join our team at Penn State Health. As a Medical Lab Technician, you will play a critical role in performing complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissues. Your expertise will be essential in identifying bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, analyzing chemical content of fluids, and cross-matching blood for transfusion and organ transplantation.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests, including blood counts, chemistry tests, and microbiology tests.
  • Identify and analyze microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
  • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of test results.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited program.
  • Medical Lab Technician Certification through ASCP, AMT, ACHI, or an equivalent certification agency.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
