Job Summary:

The successful candidate will lead our physical sciences testing efforts, shaping our testing strategies, and establishing critical capabilities and workflows. This role reports directly to the Head of R&D and requires a strong background in materials testing, team leadership, and project management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of scientists and engineers in testing efforts
  • Troubleshoot workflows and instruments related to testing
  • Contribute to the ideation of new scientific campaigns
  • Execute testing steps in scientific campaigns
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to design testing workflows and communicate results
  • Provide expertise to Product Managers on testing capabilities and product development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data flow and capability builds
  • Manage testing CAPEX and vendor relationships
  • Assist in testing strategy and planning for new and existing workflows
  • Demonstrate clear and thoughtful communication
Qualifications:
  • Industry experience in materials testing
  • Experience with diverse testing methods and material types
  • Experience building and managing high-performance teams
  • Experience building automated systems
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations
  • Experience developing and commercializing products
  • Experience with high-throughput testing and proxy measurements
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements
  • Experience testing materials in extreme environments
