Position Summary

We are seeking a seasoned hospitality leader to oversee the food and beverage division within COTA's amusement park and existing facilities. The Vice President of Food & Beverage will play a pivotal role in shaping the culinary experience for guests and will serve as the primary liaison with clients and internal teams. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in large-scale food service management and demonstrate strong leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute operational strategies to optimize efficiency and profitability of food and beverage services.
  • Manage concessions and beverage operations for various events, including logistical planning, inventory management, and event execution.
  • Supervise food preparation and service, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors to facilitate successful operations.
  • Oversee point-of-sale systems, ensuring effective maintenance and distribution.
  • Establish and uphold bar policies, ensuring compliance among staff.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing quality, reducing costs, and increasing profitability.
  • Set ambitious goals for departmental performance and growth.
  • Direct daily operations and manage a team of managers and hourly staff.
  • Encourage peak performance among team members through effective leadership and evaluation.
  • Facilitate regular communication with sales, operations, and culinary teams.
  • Monitor team performance and address areas needing improvement.
  • Participate in recruitment and talent development initiatives.
  • Foster a positive work environment while ensuring adherence to company policies.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field; MBA preferred, along with 15+ years of experience in large-scale food service management.
  • Experience in amusement parks, zoos, or large resorts is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Willingness to relocate to the Austin area.

Work Environment

This role involves a combination of office work and on-site management throughout the venue. The position requires both sedentary tasks and physical activity, including lifting and moving as necessary.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift approximately 30 lbs as needed.
