We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative I to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Patient Access Representative I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration and admission process for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Register patients for services, including collecting demographic and insurance information
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits
- Collect and process patient payments
- Manage patient records and maintain accurate and up-to-date information
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care transitions
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to resolve patient access issues
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 2-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in revenue cycle or patient access
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and make change
- Computer literacy and proficiency in electronic medical records
This is a sedentary and active position that requires regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, and hearing. The employee must be able to lift files, reference books, and supplies up to 10 pounds and may be required to walk and push a wheeled cart with a computer and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
