OB Technician II Position at Penn Medicine

Penn Medicine is a leading academic medical center dedicated to providing the highest level of care to patients. As a surgical technologist in our Women's Health Units, you will be part of a team that consistently demonstrates safe practice within the organizational professional practice model. The OB Technician II is responsible for providing patient care through the application of department-specific processes and accepting accountability for the care of assigned patients. The role requires collaboration with the interprofessional healthcare team to facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of surgical instrumentation and the ability to handle instrumentation properly, as well as knowledge of sterile technique and the ability to create and maintain a sterile set-up. The OB Technician II will also demonstrate professional responsibility and accountability for actions, as well as the ability to deliver safe and accurate care to patients. The role requires a high level of clinical judgment and decision-making, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The OB Technician II will also be responsible for participating in improving organizational performance and demonstrating professional qualities, responsibilities, and accountabilities. The role requires a strong commitment to patient care and a passion for delivering high-quality services. Credentials:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
- Surgical Technologist (Required)
- The OB Technician II must have successfully completed a surgical OB Technician program sponsored by an entity holding nationally recognized institutional or programmatic accreditation and hold and maintain a surgical OB Technician II certification from an accredited certification program.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
- Experience: 1+ years Experience as Surgical Technician
