Job Summary:
The Financial Counselor, Cancer Center Support Services Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring seamless patient care by obtaining insurance pre-certification and assisting patients in developing a financial plan for treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain insurance pre-certification for treatment
- Assist patients in establishing a financial plan for treatment
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely billing
- Provide exceptional patient service and support
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent with a minimum of three years of experience in insurance or social work
- Associate's degree in Business or Accounting preferred
- Knowledge of government programs (Medicare, Medicaid, VA, and Tricare/Champus) and claim submission practices
- Basic knowledge of billing specifications and PC applications
- Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Word
