Medical Laboratory Specialist

Job Summary:
El Campo Memorial Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team in the Clinical Laboratory Department. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and efficient analysis of specimens to support quality patient care services.
Responsibilities:
- Under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Director, perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to analyze specimens and provide accurate results.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes, centrifuges, and automated analyzers.
- Prepare and process specimens for testing, including labeling, sorting, and storing.
- Perform quality control and quality assurance procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Participate in the development and implementation of laboratory policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure smooth operation of the laboratory.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related science from an accredited college.
- MT/MLT certification preferred, ASCP/AMT/AAB registration preferred.
- 1 year of clinical laboratory experience, including generalist and blood bank experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
Work Schedule:
Mid-shift and night-shift available, 7 on, 7 off schedule, must be able to work alone, phlebotomy experience required.
