We are seeking experienced professionals to join our team as Special Inspectors and Field Engineers.

Job Summary

Socotec, a leading provider of niche consulting services, is looking for skilled individuals to perform inspections and provide technical expertise in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct scheduled inspections and reviews to ensure compliance with NYS DOB code and approved drawings.
  • Submit detailed reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices.
Requirements
  • NYS PE, Civil or Mechanical Engineering Degree with field experience.
  • Certifications from ICC, AWS, NICET, and/or ACI, including Soils, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Concrete Special Inspector, Spray-Applied Fireproofing, Steel Reinforcement, Welding, Bolting, ECC, ACI I and/or II, CWI, NICET II Soils, UT Shearwave Level II.
  • Technical, Associate's, or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, etc.) a plus.
  • Familiarity with the New York City Building Code.
  • Ability to read prints and find inspection locations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Reliable means of transportation.
  • Extensive knowledge of industry standards.
  • Punctuality, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work various shifts and travel to multiple job sites daily.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. with a valid driver's license.

Hourly Rate

$20-$50 per hour.
