Position Details

FTC is currently seeking qualified Special Inspectors and Field Engineers to join our dynamic team.

  • Conduct inspections as scheduled by dispatch.
  • Perform inspections during assigned times, ensuring compliance with NYS DOB codes and approved plans.
  • Typical working hours are from 7 AM to 3:30 PM.
Qualifications
  • New York State Professional Engineer (PE) license or a degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with relevant field experience.
  • Preferred certifications include ICC, AWS, NICET, and/or ACI, such as:
  • ICC Soils, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Concrete Special Inspector, Spray-Applied Fireproofing, Steel Reinforcement, Welding, Bolting, ECC, ACI I and/or II, CWI, NICET II Soils, UT Shearwave Level II.
  • A Technical, Associate's, or Bachelor's Degree in a related Engineering field (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, etc.) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the New York City Building Code is essential.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and identify inspection locations.
  • Proficient in generating inspection reports that meet company standards.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards.
  • Must demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and travel to multiple job sites daily.
  • A motivated team player with a strong work ethic.
  • Effective communication skills with diverse project managers.
  • Ability to prepare and submit daily reports electronically.
  • Organized and efficient in task management.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. with a valid driver's license.
