Position Summary:FTC is currently seeking qualified individuals for the role of Special Inspector and Field Engineer to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct inspections as assigned by dispatch in a timely manner.
- Perform inspections in accordance with NYS DOB code and approved plans, ensuring thorough review and reporting.
- Standard working hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
- New York State Professional Engineer (PE) license or a degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with relevant field experience.
- Preferred certifications include ICC, AWS, NICET, and/or ACI, such as:
- ICC Soils, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Concrete Special Inspector, Spray-Applied Fireproofing, Steel Reinforcement, Welding, Bolting, ECC, ACI I and/or II, CWI, NICET II Soils, UT Shearwave Level II.
- A technical, associate's, or bachelor's degree in a related engineering field (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, etc.) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with the New York City Building Code is essential.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and identify inspection locations.
- Proficient in generating inspection reports that meet company standards.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards is expected.
- Must demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and travel to multiple job sites daily.
- A highly motivated team player with a strong work ethic.
- Effective communication skills to interact with various project managers.
- Ability to prepare and submit daily reports electronically.
- Organized and efficient in work processes.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and possess a valid driver's license.
