Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Planning and Permitting Division Lead to join our team at HMB Professional Engineers in Tennessee. As a key member of our Environmental Planning and Permitting market, you will be responsible for leading the business development, operations, and production efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement business strategies to drive growth and profitability in the Environmental Planning and Permitting market.
  • Lead the development of fee proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and invoices for projects.
  • Collaborate with clients and project teams to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff members to help them develop their skills and expertise.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders in the Environmental Planning and Permitting Division.
  • Develop and manage project work plans and scopes of work to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.
  • Administer quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of project deliverables.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Biology, Archaeology, Geology, Natural or Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in NEPA and/or permitting, with a strong background in environmental planning and permitting.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, project teams, and staff members.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and the ability to interpret and apply them in project-specific contexts.
  • Experience working with state and federal regulatory agencies, with a strong understanding of the permitting process.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Adobe products, and GIS, with the ability to learn new software and technologies quickly.
