Position Overview

The Ski and Ride School Operations Coordinator plays a vital role in managing the administrative tasks of the department. This includes overseeing timekeeping and payroll processes, maintaining training materials, managing ticket and lesson sales, assisting with scheduling, and performing various other responsibilities. This role requires effective communication skills and a friendly demeanor towards both staff and guests.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Oversee payroll processes for the Ski and Ride School, ensuring accurate timecard management and accountability for staff compliance with timekeeping protocols.
  • Conduct weekly reviews and approvals of timecards, ensuring timely submission of incentives to HR for bi-weekly payroll.
  • Facilitate Child Abuse Prevention Training and manage documentation for all Ski and Ride School personnel.
  • Adhere to and promote safety standards within the Ski and Ride School environment.
  • Maintain an organized and tidy workspace.
  • Provide assistance to guests, addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a calm and professional manner.
  • Ensure confidentiality regarding employee and departmental information.
  • Coordinate with Reservations and Ticketing departments.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Manage the check-out and check-in processes for ski rental equipment, ensuring proper documentation and storage of rental forms.
  • Collaborate with the Guest Relations team to ensure ticket sales stations are adequately staffed and operational.
  • Address and troubleshoot any issues related to the ticketing system and guest experiences.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings, contributing to team discussions and initiatives.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

  • Dependable and flexible with scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Maintain composure in high-stress situations.
  • Resolve conflicts in a professional and amicable manner.

Education and Experience:

  • Preferred college degree or equivalent experience in the ski industry.
  • Experience in ski rentals, ticket sales, or ski instruction is advantageous.
  • Administrative experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with POS and reporting systems is a plus.
Working Conditions

Physical Requirements:

  • Work in both indoor and outdoor environments, subject to variable winter weather conditions.
  • Ability to work extended hours, particularly during peak periods.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of shifts.
  • Capability to lift and carry weights of thirty (30) pounds or more.
  • Dexterity required for keyboard use and handling ski equipment.
  • Engage in various physical activities including standing, sitting, walking, bending, carrying, lifting, reaching, and kneeling.
