Position Overview

The Ski and Ride School Office Manager is tasked with overseeing the administrative operations of the department. This role encompasses managing timekeeping and payroll processes, monitoring training materials, facilitating ticket and lesson sales, assisting with scheduling, and performing various other responsibilities. The position requires effective communication skills and a friendly approach towards both staff and guests.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties:

  • Manage payroll processes for the Ski and Ride School, ensuring accurate oversight of timecards, addressing missed punches, and ensuring staff compliance with the timekeeping system.
  • Conduct timely reviews and approvals of timecards on a weekly basis, while tracking and submitting incentives to HR for bi-weekly payroll.
  • Assist in the delivery of Child Abuse Prevention Training and ensure all Ski and Ride School team members submit required attendance documentation.
  • Adhere to and promote safety protocols within the Ski and Ride School environment.
  • Maintain an organized and tidy workspace.
  • Provide assistance to guests, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns with professionalism.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding employee and departmental information.
  • Coordinate with Reservations and Ticketing departments.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the check-out and check-in processes for ski rental equipment, ensuring accurate completion and storage of rental documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Guest Relations team to manage ticket sales stations within the Ski and Ride School, ensuring they are adequately stocked and operational.
  • Address and troubleshoot ticketing system issues and guest-related concerns as necessary.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings, contributing to discussions and team objectives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Skilled in resolving conflicts amicably and professionally.
Education and Experience
  • Preferred college degree or equivalent experience in the ski industry.
  • Prior experience in ski rentals, ticket sales, or ski/ride instruction is advantageous.
  • Administrative experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Experience with POS and reporting systems is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work indoors and occasionally outdoors in a high alpine environment with varying winter weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, particularly during peak holiday periods.
  • Physical capability to stand and walk for the duration of shifts.
  • Ability to lift and carry weights of thirty (30) pounds or more.
  • Dexterity required for keyboard use and handling ski equipment.
  • Engage in various physical activities including standing, sitting, walking, bending, carrying, lifting, reaching, and kneeling.
