Patient Care Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, you will perform various tasks and activities to assist with patient care, including vital sign measurements, patient identification, and technical duties.
- You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to address patient and family needs, taking into account cultural and individual diversity.
- Effective communication and interaction with patients, families, and staff are essential for this role.
- You will participate in receiving patient bedside report and demonstrate accountability and responsibility in daily performance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; CNA or other educational equivalent preferred.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) training must be obtained prior to employment or within one month of hire.
- Successful completion of orientation and evidence of positive initiatives with patients and staff.
Working Conditions
This role requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Additional Information
This position is for 7:00am-7:30pm, every other weekend and rotating holidays.
