Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, you will engage in selected tasks and activities to assist in the assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient needs.
- You will obtain and record vital signs as ordered and delegated by the RN, and perform technical duties and selected treatments, procedures, and activities that contribute to safe and efficient delivery of patient care.
- You will collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary team to address patient and family needs, taking into account cultural and individual diversity.
- You will effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, and staff, and participate in receiving patient bedside report at the beginning of each shift and throughout the shift as needed.
- High school diploma or GED, and CNA or other educational equivalent.
- CT CNA certification, EMT, or student nurse from an accredited program.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) training must be obtained prior to employment or within one month of hire.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. They are also required to stand and walk, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
