We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.
Responsibilities- Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, you will engage in selected tasks and activities to assist in the assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient needs.
- You will obtain and record vital signs as ordered and delegated by the RN, and perform technical duties and selected treatments, procedures, and activities that contribute to safe and efficient delivery of patient care.
- You will effectively assist in the care of patients with consideration for the safety of key populations, and collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary team to address patient/family needs.
- You will participate in receiving patient bedside report at the beginning of each shift and throughout the shift as needed, and demonstrate accountability and responsibility in daily performance of role.
- You will complete non-therapeutic functions under the direction of the MD, PA, APRN, or RN, and relocate and rotate to meet patient care needs.
- High school diploma or GED, and CNA or other educational equivalent.
- CT CNA certification, EMT, or student nurse from an accredited program.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) training must be obtained prior to employment or within one (1) month of hire.
The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. They are also required to stand and walk, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
