Medical Assistant

As a Medical Assistant with Sentara, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and administrative support in a community-based setting. This position requires a high level of professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform patient care and administrative tasks, including phlebotomy, clinical procedures, and clerical duties, under the direction of a Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or Registered Nurse.
- Work directly with patients, taking vitals, verifying patient information, and preparing them for medical procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, utilizing electronic medical records systems.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification required.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum one year experience in a healthcare setting or as an EMT, Paramedic, or Corpsman preferred.
- Phlebotomy experience and proficiency in electronic medical records systems a plus.
