Job Summary
Virginia Oncology Associates, a leading cancer care and blood disorder treatment center, is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant Float to support our offices in Newport News and Hampton. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide exceptional patient care and administrative support to our physicians and clinicians.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and clinicians with patient care duties, including exams and procedures, to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
- Record patient data, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes, prior to each physician visit.
- Obtain necessary patient records and schedule tests, procedures, and hospital admissions as required.
- Arrange for pre-authorizations and pre-certifications as needed.
- Perform other administrative duties as requested by supervisor or physician.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a multi-physician practice, preferably with a certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants.
- Ability to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of the profession and industry.
- CMA certification strongly preferred.
