We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Police Services Specialist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a key member of our public safety team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support and performing a variety of tasks to ensure the efficient operation of our police department.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service to the University community, including students, faculty, and staff.
- Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date records and databases, including the Police Department's database management system.
- Prepare and distribute reports, and respond to inquiries from various stakeholders.
- Activate the University's emergency alert system and emergency siren in response to emergency situations.
- Provide fingerprinting services to the University community using a Live Scan finger-printing machine.
- Operate the Virginia Criminal Information Network system, which is linked to the National Criminal database.
- Relay emergency information from Security to the Emergency Communications Center, and answer security calls, monitor security chatter, and relay to 911 to dispatch police, fire, etc.
- Monitor and respond to calls for service for security, which are documented in a Computer Aided Dispatch system.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of customer service or administrative experience.
- Valid Virginia driver's license.
- Strong customer service skills and attention to detail.
We offer a competitive salary of $25.00 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, vision and dental insurance, life insurance, benefits savings accounts, paid time off, and more.
The selected applicant will be required to complete a background investigation and drug screen prior to their first day of employment.
