Janitor I Job Description

Assets Inc. is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace. As part of our mission, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. This role is designed to provide meaningful employment opportunities for individuals who benefit from additional support and guidance at work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct labor in accordance with outlined OSHA safety standards and as required by site management.
  • Perform janitorial services, including emptying trash, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, cleaning restrooms, washing windows, and ground policing.
  • Actively participate in company meetings and trainings.
  • May require obtaining security clearance for access to high-security buildings.
  • Maintain a proactive relationship with customers and coworkers.
  • Be familiar with and follow all policies set forth by Assets Inc.
  • Support team efforts and actively participate in strengthening team structures.
Requirements:
  • No prior experience, training, or minimal education required.
  • Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
  • Basic knowledge of office and restroom cleaning.
  • Experience working in a team setting.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
