Job Summary

The Human Resources Assistant will provide support to the IMPD Human Resources Office, maintaining records and filing systems, regulatory reporting, and assisting in selection processes. This role will also assist in the administration of leave of absence and medical liaison programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files, ensuring compliance with Department policy and legal guidelines.
  • Assist in the administration of hiring and promotion processes, including proctoring examinations and assessments.
  • Compile and maintain records relating to sworn employee use of medical leave time, analyzing data to identify trends or abuse.
  • Assist in the administration of the IMPD limited duty program, monitoring doctor statements and verifying employee eligibility to work.
  • Update human resources information systems, ensuring data is accurate and up-to-date.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and three years of related work experience. Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations regarding the Indiana Worker's Compensation Act, FMLA, Department of Labor, and HIPAA privacy regulations is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to prioritize daily demands and organize projects in a timely fashion.

Preferred Qualifications

Oracle PeopleSoft HCM experience, NeoGov experience, and HR certifications are preferred. Law enforcement experience is also desirable.
