Job Summary

Citigroup Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Global Operational Risk Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Operational Risk Management group, you will play a critical role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and oversee the application of operational risk policies, technology, and tools to minimize losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
  • Independently assess risks and drive actions to address the root causes of operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.
  • Provide governance and oversight, including technology operational risk, cyber risk, and other areas as needed.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and oversight function, working with In-Business Risk and Independent Risk Teams.
  • Drive Operational Risk Anticipation, Mitigation, and Loss Recovery efforts, including developing and implementing recovery plans.
  • Ensure the implementation of operational risk policies and provide exception approvals.
  • Attend regular In-Business Risk and Control Forums and work with first-line teams to review, challenge, and provide guidance to improve metrics.
  • Assist with assurance reviews to test processes and controls, and partner with country cluster leads and Risk Stripe SMEs on reviews performed locally.
  • Work on deep dive analyses with support from In-Business Risk and Control and drive corrective actions.
  • Manage issues, including KPI/KRI/Corrective Action Plans, and share best practices and common risk, controls, and corrective actions through Framework Papers.
  • Embody a level of professional skepticism, seeking to remain objective and validate answers before making key decisions.
  • Collaborate to resolve issues that fall within the terms of the contract, escalating those that require commercial or legal support.
Requirements
  • 6-10 years of relevant experience in operational risk, audit, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of TTS products and significant experience in operational risk is essential.
  • Expertise in fraud awareness, risk management operations, and systems, as well as vendor/outsourcing management and MCA legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with the ability to address and resolve conflict while maintaining relationships.
  • Detailed-oriented with analytical skills and expertise in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Bachelor's/University degree, with a Master's degree preferred.
