Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the professional setup and service of all food and beverage functions within the establishment. This role requires fulfilling client needs in accordance with established standard operating procedures.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED: A High School Diploma is preferred but not mandatory. TIPS Training and 4-6 months of experience in a similar service or restaurant environment are advantageous.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess the ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) in English with colleagues, guests, and management. Proficiency in Spanish is considered a plus.

Ability to read and comprehend English documents, such as Banquet Event Orders and Manuals of Standards, is essential.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The role involves standing for extended periods, navigating stairs, handling equipment, and effective communication. Candidates should be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects weighing at least 35 lbs. and travel with weight for a minimum of 25-30 yards.

WORKING CONDITIONS: The position requires long periods of standing and walking in both indoor and outdoor settings, including exposure to variable weather conditions. The noise level is typically moderate, and candidates may work in close quarters in certain areas.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Set up standard and complex meal arrangements as per instructions.
  • Prepare receptions and themed events.
  • Carry trays while serving multiple dishes.
  • Serve food while managing multiple plates.
  • Pour beverages while handling other items.
  • Transport equipment to and from designated areas.
  • Manage props and storage effectively.

MENTAL/EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate must thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, demonstrating the ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines. Teamwork and independent task completion are both essential, along with problem-solving skills and professional interaction with guests and colleagues.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: Adherence to all safety protocols is mandatory. Candidates must utilize appropriate safety equipment and report any unsafe conditions immediately.
