Hospitalist Physician Assistant/ARNP in Endocrine Care

This PA/ARNP Hospitalist position plays a vital role in delivering high-quality medical care and management for patients with diabetes at the University of Iowa Health Care Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for working collaboratively with healthcare teams.
Responsibilities and Expectations
- Perform comprehensive medical evaluations and develop personalized treatment plans for patients with diabetes.
- Collaborate with endocrine staff to determine initial diabetes care plans and make regular rounds to evaluate effectiveness of current diabetes regimens.
- Recommend changes in diabetes regimens as indicated and communicate these changes to primary care teams and nursing staff.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A Physician Assistant (PA) must comply with registration and licensure requirements as specified by the Iowa Board of Physician Assistant Examiners which include graduation from an accredited PA educational program and/or certification by the NCCPA.
- An Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) requires a Master's degree or Doctorate degree in nursing and be registered as an ARNP in the state of Iowa.
