Job Summary

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism is seeking a skilled PA/ARNP Hospitalist to deliver high-quality medical care and management for inpatients and outpatients with diabetes. This position offers autonomy in medical decision-making and services provided under the supervision of staff physicians in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive medical care and management exercising autonomy in medical decision-making and services provided primarily in an inpatient setting under a collaborative practice agreement.
  • Collaborate with care teams to optimize care delivery through coordination and transitions of care.
  • Utilize judgment to provide continuity of care incorporating best practices and encouraging others to do the same.

Key Qualifications
  • A Physician Assistant (PA) must comply with registration and licensure requirements as specified by the Iowa Board of Physician Assistant Examiners which include graduation from an accredited PA educational program and/or certification by the NCCPA.
  • An Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) requires a Master's degree or Doctorate degree in nursing and be registered as an ARNP in the state of Iowa.

Compensation and Benefits
