We are currently in search of a meticulous and knowledgeable Certified Public Accountant to join our vibrant team. This role is crucial in managing and supervising all financial operations within our trucking insurance agency. The successful candidate will be tasked with maintaining precise financial documentation, generating reports, and ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily functions of the accounting division
  • Prepare financial statements and reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Conduct thorough financial analyses to guarantee accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain comprehensive financial records in line with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Prepare and submit all required tax documentation while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws
  • Establish and enforce financial policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency
  • Offer financial insights and support to management and various departments
  • Generate Profit & Loss Statements
  • Investigate tax-related issues and legislation, providing management with relevant insights
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial planning
  • Conduct internal audits and liaise with external auditors as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Must possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in taxation
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and accounting practices specific to the insurance industry, along with tax regulations
  • Proficient in accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and precision
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
