Job Summary

The Forensic Program Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the sexual assault program, including supervision of forensic nurse examiners, public relations, and collaboration with local law enforcement and prosecutors. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency department environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of forensic nurse examiners to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to state protocol.
  • Develop and implement educational programs for forensic nurses, including curriculum development and facilitation of annual competencies.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, Attorney General's Office, and local victims services to ensure effective communication and coordination of services.
  • Collect and analyze statistics related to forensic patients, and conduct regular chart audits to ensure compliance with state regulations and The Joint Commission standards.
  • Testify in court as an expert and assist other forensic RNs in preparing for court testimony.
  • Develop and maintain departmental policies related to the forensic program, and ensure compliance with organizational integrity standards.
Requirements
  • Graduate degree from a school of nursing with current licensure to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio.
  • At least 2 years of experience functioning in an emergency department setting.
  • Demonstrated completion of an approved sexual assault nurse examiners program and service as a sexual nurse examiner for acute cases for at least 2 years.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel to multiple site locations and work a varying shift schedule.
