Pay Range for Heavy Equipment Mechanic: $28-35/hour
In this role, you will be tasked with diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of heavy construction machinery at different job sites. You will operate independently while collaborating with our maintenance team to ensure all equipment functions safely and efficiently. This position requires a solid technical foundation, adept problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy-duty construction machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and dump trucks.
  • Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on all machinery and company vehicles as needed.
  • Respond to service requests at various job sites, providing prompt and effective repairs.
  • Maintain detailed records of all repairs and maintenance activities, including parts utilized and hours worked.
  • Collaborate with equipment operators to identify potential issues and propose solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all work performed.
  • Keep service vehicle equipped with necessary tools and parts, ensuring it is well-maintained.
  • May be responsible for conducting NYS and DOT annual inspections.
Qualifications:

Required:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mechanic/Technician in the construction or heavy-duty vehicle sector.
  • At least 2 years of experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Possession of personal tools.
  • Ability to lift at least 100 lbs and pass a pre-employment physical assessment.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred:
  • High School Diploma or Technical/Vocational training in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment repair, or a related field.
  • Experience in welding and fabrication.
  • CDL License.
