Salary Range for Road Mechanic/Technician: $28-35/hour
As a Road Mechanic/Technician, your responsibilities will include diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing various heavy construction machinery at multiple job sites. You will operate independently while collaborating with our maintenance team to ensure all equipment functions safely and efficiently. This role demands a robust technical background, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy-duty construction machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and dump trucks.
  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on all equipment and company vehicles as needed.
  • Respond to service requests at various job sites and deliver prompt and effective repairs.
  • Maintain detailed records of all repairs and maintenance activities, including parts utilized and time spent.
  • Collaborate with equipment operators to identify potential issues and propose solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all work performed.
  • Keep service vehicle equipped with necessary tools and parts, ensuring it is well-maintained.
  • May also conduct NYS and DOT annual inspections as required.
Qualifications:

Required:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mechanic/Technician in the construction or heavy-duty vehicle sector.
  • At least 2 years of experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Possession of personal tools.
  • Capability to lift at least 100 lbs and pass a pre-employment physical assessment.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred:
  • High School Diploma or Technical/Vocational training in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment repair, or a related field.
  • Experience in welding and fabrication.
  • Possession of a CDL License.
