Job Overview

The Direct Support Professional Weekend Part-Time position at Andrus Childrens Center is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children in care. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, predictable, and therapeutic living environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support children during cottage-based activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Plan and implement individual and group initiatives to build children's skills and self-esteem.
  • Ensure the basic needs of children are met, and the cottage is maintained in a safe, orderly, and clean condition.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including recreation therapists, teachers, and social workers.

Requirements:

  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • Minimum of HS diploma (or equivalent) plus one year of experience working with children or adults with developmental or behavioral disabilities.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to navigate Microsoft Office suite.
  • Multi-lingual a plus.
  • Driver's license preferred.

Physical/Travel Requirements:

  • Lift, reach, walk, climb stairs, bend.
  • Candidates must participate in our Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training and pass a written and verbal test.
