Job Title: Diesel Mechanic Technician

Ryder is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team in Savannah, Georgia. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on our fleet of heavy-duty trucks.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with diesel engines and related systems
  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential issues and recommend repairs
  • Work independently and as part of a team to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical certification preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance
  • Valid CDL Class A license required; non-commercial driver's license preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
What We Offer:
  • Competitive hourly rate: $30.00 per hour based on experience, with $2.00/hr weekend premium
  • Reefer premium: $1.50 per hour
  • Additional performance incentives paid monthly
  • Sign-on bonus: $1250 paid after 30 days and $1250 paid after 90 days
  • Generous paid time off and benefits package
