Job Summary
The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for performing technical human resources work in position classification, compensation, benefits administration, recruitment, employment, employee development, and employee and labor relations.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and evaluate wage and salary data to ensure compliance with District policies and procedures.
- Assist in the administration of employee benefit programs, including open enrollment meetings and advising employees on benefits.
- Conduct organizational studies to identify areas for improvement and develop class specifications.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Assist in the negotiation and administration of collective bargaining agreements.
- Conduct investigations and pre-disciplinary hearings to ensure fair and consistent treatment of employees.
- Provide work direction to administrative support staff and participate in the development of the annual department budget.
Requirements
- Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university majoring in areas related to human resources.
- Technical human resources experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in areas related to human resources.
- One year of service with the District as a Senior Administrative Specialist, Human Resources Assistant, Secretary, Administrative Assistant, Legal Assistant or Investigator; or two years of such service as an Administrative Specialist.
- Civil service status in one of the foregoing classes.
