Job Overview

The Change Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing alterations within engineering data and processes. This position requires occasional access to the factory to oversee projects and product evaluations, with personal protective equipment (PPE) mandated during such visits.

Windchill proficiency is highly desirable. Previous experience as a Change Coordinator in an engineering or manufacturing environment is essential. While an engineering degree is advantageous, it is not a strict requirement. Typical changes may involve phasing out obsolete parts or introducing new part identifiers.

The Change Coordinator employs best practices in change management to facilitate the accurate release and updating of engineering data. This role ensures effective communication across various functional teams regarding change management resolutions and coordinates the approval and execution of enterprise-wide changes.

The Change Coordinator will deliver engineering support, provide leadership, and assume technical responsibility for designated projects, interacting with users of marketing and engineering data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate and oversee technical data modifications through the Enterprise Change Request (ECR) process, utilizing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership, consulting engineers, project engineers, marketing, production, quality assurance, procurement, and vendors to drive product enhancement and cost-saving initiatives for globally sourced products.
  • Apply sound engineering principles to components and systems to develop and evaluate designs, bills of materials, including 3D modeling, assembly, analysis, and documentation of outcomes; oversee the construction of assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components; and conduct quality testing.
  • Provide programming logic for bill of material generation through a configurator application.
  • Demonstrate experience working with cross-functional teams.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Support projects and teams associated with Engineering Systems applications.
  • Create and update engineering documentation to reflect current practices and procedures.
  • Manage shifting priorities effectively while multitasking.
Qualifications:

Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Minimum educational background and experience, essential skills, and abilities required for this role.

Required:

  • Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in tools such as the Microsoft Office suite, Pro-E/CREO, PDMLink, and configured products.
  • Ability to articulate and create information effectively, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical skills with the capability to organize and implement projects within detailed timelines and budgets.
  • Familiarity with current Product Lifecycle Management systems, CAD tools, project management, and content management systems.
  • General knowledge of engineering and manufacturing policies and operations, including production control, quality assurance, electrical products, or industrial engineering.
  • Understanding of common manufacturing processes (casting, 3D modeling, patterns, machining, and stamping).

Technical competencies in:

  • Motors, drives, pumping technology, electronic controls, business values, and project management.
  • Proven ability to resolve complex issues and a solid understanding of engineering standards, principles, and theories.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Willingness to lead and accept guidance from others.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and adaptability to changing priorities.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 1-2 years of relevant experience in a product, project, or support engineering role within a manufacturing context.
  • Experience with valves, pumps, electric motors, and other electro-mechanical products.
  • Background in Production and/or Support Engineering is preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with electro-mechanical devices and components.
  • Knowledge of fluid applications, pressure vessel design, and valves.
  • Expertise in 3D CAD software (Pro/E, Creo preferred).
  • Experience with product lifecycle management software (Windchill preferred).
  • Experience collaborating with team members across different countries and time zones.
  • Working knowledge of MS Project.
  • Experience with HVAC processes and equipment in residential and commercial settings.
  • Exposure to regulatory and listing agencies such as UL, FM, CSA, and CE mark.
  • Experience using PTC Windchill and PTC Creo Parametric, including configuration, testing, and administration.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, are essential. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with robust problem-solving abilities, capable of coordinating and motivating cross-functional, interdisciplinary, and virtual teams to achieve both tactical and strategic objectives.
