Job Title: Crew Leader/Lead Carpenter

Scroggs Construction Services is seeking a motivated and experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. As a Crew Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing a crew of carpenters and ensuring the successful completion of various remodeling, addition, and new home construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather materials and equipment for the crew to use on job sites.
  • Ensure job sites are clean and well-maintained, with machines serviced as needed.
  • Oversee project crews in carpentry work, including maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction of buildings and structures.
  • Assist in the supervision and operation of carpentry activities and assigned personnel.
  • Coordinate carpentry work with other trades and assist in the preparation of estimates, reports, and requisitions.
  • Perform all duties of a carpenter or finish carpenter, following recognized procedures and techniques.
  • Act as supervisor in their absence and perform related duties as assigned.
  • Assist with slabs and elevated structures, and establish reference points and lines.
Requirements:
  • At least five years of experience in a construction-related crew lead role, with at least two years in finish carpentry work.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate all carpenter tools and equipment.
  • Extensive set of carpentry tools and ability to independently complete all construction-related tasks.
  • Ability to lay out construction, remodeling, and alteration work, and read blueprints.
  • Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities, including heavy work in inclement weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift, load, and unload heavy construction materials frequently.
  • Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Supervisory ability and a valid NC driver's license.
