  • Assisting the project manager in planning and executing work
  • Preparing change orders and participating in change negotiations
  • Managing job controls to ensure compliance with contracts, budgets, and schedules
  • Reviewing and updating project schedules with the project manager and area staff
  • Communicating project information to necessary individuals
  • Maintaining current project status and pertinent field activities
  • Cross-training engineers and field staff in multiple disciplines
  • Maintaining communication with owners, vendors, subcontractors, and project team members
  • Coordinating the RFI process and working with field engineers/superintendents
  • Maintaining records regarding job progress, costs, and material usage
  • Managing and developing field engineering personnel

Requirements include:

  • 5+ years of previous engineering experience in large heavy/highway construction projects
  • Medium to Large project experience ($25M+) is required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a similar discipline is preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word
  • Ability to drive a company pick-up truck or similar vehicle to work sites, offices, and other locations
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders and scaffolding to access work and walk on uneven surfaces
