Under the supervision of the Branding, Advertising & Retail Partnerships Manager, the Merchandising Coordinator plays a crucial role in providing merchandising assistance to Texaco's convenience store network. The ideal candidate will possess strong retail merchandising expertise, characterized by meticulous attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively under tight deadlines. A proven track record as a proactive self-starter capable of managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Merchandising & Price Management:
  1. Facilitate the onboarding of new vendors through the internal procurement process and establish pricing for all new products in the back-office system.
  2. Update vendor pricing files and schedule necessary retail price adjustments.
  3. Resolve scan discrepancies in the pricing system in collaboration with management.
  4. Assist in the development of planograms and store layouts for company-operated convenience stores and external partners as required.
  5. Conduct site evaluations to ensure adherence to planogram standards and promotional displays.
  6. Order merchandising displays and supplies to enhance in-store presentation.
  7. Formulate exit strategies for products that need to be phased out.
Network Profitability:
  1. Investigate and propose new product offerings to boost sales in convenience stores.
  2. Support non-fuel sales profitability by meeting category margin targets.
  3. Conduct competitive analysis to assess industry performance and trends.
  4. Collaborate with Station Managers to optimize the ordering process and maintain stock levels.
  5. Monitor audit findings and adjust cost categories to sustain margins.
  6. Assist retailers with merchandising planning and execution.
  7. Work with the Marketing team to design and implement monthly promotions that attract customers.
Performance Analysis:
  1. Track and evaluate promotional sales performance, providing recaps to management.
  2. Compile historical sales data to assist in planogram adjustments.
  3. Analyze category performance and identify growth opportunities.
In-Store Marketing Support:
  1. Create and distribute promotional materials for convenience stores.
  2. Collaborate with vendors to produce sales signage and update digital displays monthly.
Growth Initiatives:
  1. Assist in developing expansion strategies for the Ama backcourt brand.
  2. Support the enhancement of the Made-to-Order (MTO) category through menu development and supply chain improvements.
  3. Develop instructional guides to ensure consistency across the network and train staff accordingly.
Relationship Management:
  1. Foster relationships with vendors and explore new partnership opportunities.
  2. Identify product rebate programs to reduce costs for the business and consumers.
  3. Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with vendors to resolve supply chain challenges.
  4. Plan and execute an annual appreciation event for valued partners.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Perform other duties as assigned, including marketing support.
  2. Initiate profit-driving and cost-saving measures whenever feasible.
  3. Provide merchandising expertise to the extended retail network as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:
  1. Bachelor's Degree or three to five years of experience in retail sales or merchandising.
Skills:
  1. Uphold strict ethical standards: integrity, objectivity, and confidentiality.
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including editing and proofreading.
  3. Ability to analyze data for informed decision-making.
  4. Strong negotiation and time management skills.

  7. Clear and persuasive oral communication skills.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  2. Experience with back-office systems.
  3. Experience in retail chain purchasing.
  4. Experience in developing and executing planograms.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Commitment to the core values of IES.
  2. Pass background checks and drug testing as required.
  3. Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  4. Valid driver's license with a clean record.
  5. Willingness to maintain or enhance skills as needed.
  6. Must obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) within sixty days of hire.
  7. This position requires in-person attendance.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Employment is contingent upon passing reference checks, drug tests, background checks, and motor vehicle history checks. This is a non-exempt position under FLSA regulations.
