Position Overview:

As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for the operation, inspection, and maintenance of HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical systems within designated facilities. Your goal will be to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment while minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance and repairs. Candidates should demonstrate technical proficiency in HVAC and refrigeration, as well as possess skills in electrical, plumbing, and related trades to effectively manage daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Duties:

  • Execute ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work orders on mechanical systems and associated equipment.
  • Maintain, operate, and repair all HVAC/R systems at assigned locations, including but not limited to: Air Handling Units, Fan Coil Units, Variable Air Volume systems, Chilled Water Systems, and more.
  • Familiarize yourself with various equipment and methods necessary for daily operations.
  • Conduct facility inspections and report on conditions affecting client satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols, ensuring cleanliness and safety in work areas.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Complete all required safety training sessions as scheduled.
  • Identify and communicate Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) issues, ensuring safe handling of hazardous materials.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Update work order statuses in real-time.
  • Utilize the Client CMMS system for all maintenance activities.
  • Escalate issues to management and clients promptly.
  • Collaborate with the Parts/Material Supervisor to ensure availability of necessary tools and supplies.
  • Participate in work and safety meetings as required.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred.
  • At least five (5) years of technical experience in building engineering, with a strong focus on HVAC/R, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Additional Skills:

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, laws, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Office and CMMS.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other trades to complete projects effectively.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Capable of working at heights and in various physical positions.
  • Must be available for on-call work and perform additional duties as necessary.
