Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed dentists in all phases of dentistry, including chair-side procedures, patient preparation, and infection control.
  • Manage patient behavior during treatment and ensure a comfortable and safe environment.
  • Operate dental radiographic equipment to take diagnostic-quality x-rays and develop and mount them as requested by the dentist.
  • Follow infection control protocols and use appropriate protective equipment to maintain a sterile environment.
  • Assist patients with oral hygiene instructions and provide education on proper oral health practices.
  • Document treatment and patient information in our dental software program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the clinic manager and dental director.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a certified Dental Assisting Training Program and valid California Radiology License.
  • Current CPR certification from an American Heart Association-approved organization.
  • Knowledge of proper use of dental materials and equipment and ability to assist dentists.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of relevant dental clinic experience.
  • Experience with dental software systems.
  • Experience working with children.
