We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Norwalk Hospital Association. Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care and support under the direction of a Registered Nurse, prioritizing assignments and responding to patient needs.
- Assist patients with daily tasks, such as feeding, dressing, and vital sign checks.
- Document patient data accurately and maintain a safe patient environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and coworkers, observing and reporting changes in patient condition.
- Participate in unit operations, demonstrating a willingness to assist and improve processes.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Active CNA certification in the state of Connecticut preferred; BLS/CPR certification required within 90 days of start date.
This role requires significant manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity, as well as exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste. The physical effort required is very heavy, with the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force.
