Patient Care Specialist

As a Patient Care Technician at Norwalk Hospital Association, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of healthcare professionals who are dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide physical care to assigned patients, including technical skills such as point of care testing.
- Implement nursing orders promptly and accurately, demonstrating a strong understanding of patient care principles.
- Follow established policies and procedures for patient care activities, including unit-specific equipment and safety protocols.
- Provide patient comfort and safety through preventative measures, such as side rails, restraints, and bed/ chair exit alarms.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Enter accurate and timely data into the computer system, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Participate in staff meetings, maintaining a high level of engagement and contributing to a positive work environment.
- Maintain competency in Basic Life Support certification and adhere to all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Zero to six months of job-related experience preferred, but not required.
- Active CNA certification preferred, but not required.
- BLS/CPR certification required within 90 days of start date or upon completion of orientation process.
This role requires a high level of physical effort, with the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste.
