Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Norwalk Hospital Association. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide physical care to assigned patients, including bathing, dressing, and positioning.
  • Perform technical skills such as point of care (POC) testing and implement nursing orders promptly and adequately.
  • Follow policy and procedure for assigned patient care activities, including unit specific equipment and supplies.
  • Provide patient comfort and safety through preventative measures, such as side rails, restraints, and bed/chair exit alarm.
  • Communicate all patient and visitor information and observations to the appropriate person.
  • Enter all data into the computer system as applicable.
  • Recognize and respond to priorities in the patient care process and exercise good judgment in setting priorities for activities.
  • Use effective working relationships with all health care team members, patients, and significant others.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work environment and a clean, well-stocked work area.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Active CNA certification preferred.
  • BLS/CPR required within 90 days of start date or upon completion of orientation process.
Working Conditions

This position requires manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. The physical effort is very heavy, and the individual may exert up to 50 pounds of force.
