The Director of Product Management for Financial Systems will spearhead the Product organization overseeing financial technology solutions within Square. This encompasses Finance and Strategy, Controllership, Tax, Reconciliation, Treasury, and Procurement. In this pivotal role, you will engage with senior stakeholders across Finance and various Business Units to define and refine the requirements necessary for transforming our financial systems to support our growth trajectory. A key focus will be identifying automation opportunities by enhancing our financial data platforms to facilitate AI and automation capabilities. Major outcomes will include streamlining our monthly closing process, developing new data products for the Finance team, and enhancing the overall health of our General Ledger through improved reconciliation processes.

Success in this position demands innovative thinking to envision future processes that will enable scalability through automation. The role will encompass a wide array of financial planning requirements aimed at improving or establishing operational processes and automating critical steps.

Additionally, this position will play a crucial role in advancing the maturity of Square's Product model. Responsibilities will include defining and managing success metrics, establishing objectives and key results (OKRs), developing roadmaps, and mentoring junior Product Managers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Engaging with stakeholders across multiple Business Units, Finance, Controllership, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, Engineering, and integration partners to deliver technology solutions that align with business needs.
  2. Representing the business perspective in design discussions and collaborations with other Product and Engineering teams.
  3. Providing valuable insights into planning system requirements based on experience and vision for future states.
  4. Participating in initiatives aimed at enhancing internal processes related to planning, reporting, analytics, and finance business operations.
  5. Publishing roadmaps and relevant metrics to the broader leadership team on a quarterly basis.
  6. Addressing complex issues that require an Enterprise Architecture mindset and a deep understanding of industry standards and business objectives.
  7. Contributing to corporate development projects to offer insights on mergers and acquisitions.
  8. Leading and expanding a team of skilled product management professionals while fostering a culture of learning and growth.
  9. Collaborating with key executives to ensure compliance with privacy, regulatory, and security standards in all financial products and roadmaps.

Qualifications include:

  1. 15+ years of proven experience leading Product teams to deliver secure, mission-critical software and data solutions in a regulated environment.
  2. Experience in leading a product team that has successfully partnered with engineering to implement financial transformations in large multinational organizations.
  3. 10+ years of operational experience managing finance business processes with an expert understanding of Accounting, Tax, Treasury, and Procurement.
  4. Ability to comprehend complex business objectives, identify gaps between current and desired states, and translate business needs into system functionalities.
  5. 7+ years of experience in formulating strategies and launching data platform capabilities.
  6. Experience working within large-scale ERP systems in complex global organizations.

Square adopts a market-based approach to compensation, which may vary by location. The starting salary will be determined based on skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions. Salary ranges may be adjusted in the future.
