We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Lead Accountant, External Reporting to join our team at LyondellBasell. This role will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and qualitative review of the company's external financial statements, including annual and quarterly SEC filings, as well as earnings releases and other external reporting materials.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
- Compile and review tie-out support for publicly released financial information.
- Review financial results, prepare variance analysis, and related explanations as necessary.
- Review earnings releases, investor presentations, and other published reports to ensure compliance with SEC regulations and consistency with other LYB published documents.
- Participate in the review of the Company's XBRL exhibits in Workiva Wdesk.
- Research disclosure requirements as defined by US GAAP and SEC regulations.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with individuals in other departments, both locally and globally.
- A bachelor's degree with a major in accounting is required.
- Typically 5 years of relevant experience required.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential.
- Deadline-driven and detail-oriented, with the ability to work efficiently and achieve results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, while maintaining high quality.
- Must be well-organized, able to prioritize, and have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC Reporting is required.
- Working knowledge of XBRL is preferred, but not required.
- Big Four experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; Workiva Wdesk is a plus.
